in no time at all...
So the other day I went to apply for an Argentine ID number. I suppose it could be likened to a Social Security number in the States... in that it's very useful to have. The process for a foreigner to obtain said number goes something like this: Go to the "Civil Registry" with a non-descript but none-the-less very important sealed envelope from the Argentine consulate. Prove that you live in La Plata. ("But really, I promise, I do!") Pay $15 at the Bank. Get fingerprinted. Wait a year and a half. Return and pick document up.
Yes. That's right. My Argentine ID will be ready in February of 2008. So if you see me then, will you remind me to go and pick it up?
