half way gone.

Six months ago today I moved back to the United States. Six months. Half a year. Twenty four weeks.

I can hardly believe it.

It's weird, and doesn't make much sense, but part of me hates that it has been six months. Because that means that more and more time is separating me and Argentina. I hate that tonight it took me a good, long minute to remember how to say "eggplant" in Spanish tonight. I hate that I haven't talked to Euge in a couple of weeks. I hate that I haven't had a decent factura in a while. I hate that I'm strangely and slowly accumulating more stuff... furniture, tupperware... things that would prevent me from stuffing my life into suitcases quickly.

But, because this is a missionary's blog, we must wrap things up with a nice and neat bow. Well, that, and because God probably has a better idea of what's good for me than I do.

So, as I took stock in these last six months as I was drifting off to (two hours of) sleep last night, I realized... a lot has happened. I've made it precisely one-and-a-half times across the continent. I've moved. I've started to work in a cubicle. I've made some new friends. I've (God-willing) passed my first two classes of grad. school. I've even taken a really, really short trip to Africa.

But most importantly, I think I've followed the Lord to where I need to be. And there we've found our bow. Maybe a bit lopsided and sloppy, but a bow to tie it up with none-the-less.
