scantily clad early birds
A few weeks ago (right after New Years) I went to the mall. Every time I talk about going to mall, I feel like I'm in the sixth grade. Because, in the sixth grade, it was really cool to have your parents drop you off with some friends at North County Fair (the only mall within a radius of 50 miles from my hometown) and hang out until at least 7:30 at night. I mean, we were pretty crazy. But since those days, my mall visits have been few and far between. I'm not sure what that says about me... probably that I could use an update to my wardrobe. And so, once again, I've written a paragraph and made no point whatsoever.
So, like I was saying, I went to the mall. On... let's just say... January 2nd. And this is what I saw.
Right next to the winter coats, mind you. Nothing to rub those new holiday pounds in your face like bikinis staring you in the face on January 2nd.
And that, my friends, is why commercialization is such a marvel. Fireworks from the fourth of July are still smoldering and Thanksgiving turkeys are already on sale. Halloween costumes are barely packed away in the closet and everything begins to appear in red and green. The old man with the round belly hangs up his hat and... well, pass the tanning oil because heaven knows I could use it. The early bird here doesn't just get the worm. No, he gets a stylish, turquoise ruffled two-piece. And just in time for... more snow.

Can't say it enough. I love reading your blog. I LOVE the way you write! That first paragraph got me smiling and the whole post just rolled from there. Love it! :)
